We’re excited to share a major milestone in SWURF’s journey – one that marks the beginning of an ambitious new chapter. With fresh investment secured and three powerhouse leaders joining our board, SWURF is gearing up for rapid expansion across the UK and Europe.
This latest six-figure investment round includes follow-on funding from Gareth Williams, co-founder of Skyscanner, reinforcing his continued belief in the platform’s mission and potential.
We’re also proud to have the backing of Techscaler, Scottish Enterprise, and a range of private investors. And we’re just getting started – plans are already underway for a £1 million raise later this year to accelerate our global growth.
Meet Our New Board Members
To steer this next phase, we’re welcoming three outstanding leaders to the SWURF board:
- Alison Grieve joins as Chair of the Board. As the award-winning founder of G-Hold, Alison brings a wealth of experience in product innovation and international scale-ups.
- Scott Leckie, our former Fractional CTO, takes a permanent seat on the board to lead the charge on long-term tech strategy.
- Daniel Rodgers, founder of Scottish success story QikServe, comes on board as Non-Executive Director, offering deep insight into digital transformation and strategic growth.
A few words from our CEO and Co-Founder, Nikki Gibson:
“With Alison guiding our international rollout, Scott shaping our tech strategy, and Daniel bringing a proven track record in tech innovation, strategic development, and digital transformation, SWURF is positioned to grow with purpose and precision. Their leadership is a game-changer as we take SWURF to new markets and new heights.”
Since launching during the pandemic, our mission has remained clear: to connect remote and hybrid workers with underused hospitality spaces – cafés, hotels, community venues – and turn them into vibrant places to work and connect.
We’re not just building a platform – we’re building a community.
To date, SWURF has:
- Generated £1.8 million+ in revenue for our host partners
- Grown our community to over 11,000 users
- Activated 300+ venues across the UK
